The Fund joins a group of bi-partisan legislators for a rally in support of PA paid family leave.
“We can’t have Pennsylvanians counting on luck anymore.”
On March 26,2025 in the East Wing Rotunda of the Pennsylvania State Capitol, Cheryl and Blake (our Executive Director and our Director of Advocacy and Policy) joined a group of bi-partisan legislators for a rally in support of The Family Care Act, a bill that would create a paid family leave program here in Pennsylvania.
Cheryl and Blake were joined by two of our Board members; Sandra Donahue and Marilyn Montross. Also joining them was volunteer Grace Bongiovanni, who was asked to speak at the event! The above quote was part of her speech, which detailed her personal experience having access to paid leave through another state and how she was “lucky” to have that benefit.
Earlier in March, the House Labor & Industry Committee voted in favor of moving the Family Care Act: Putting Pennsylvania Families and Small Businesses First (HB200) out of committee. This was a critical step towards moving forward. What comes next? The bill needs to be voted on by the full House of Representatives. The bill is going to be introduced into the Senate soon. These are all critical steps in moving towards having a statewide paid family leave program – something that will improve the lives of women throughout the Commonwealth.
