Mix and Mingle with Kate Schutt
November 8, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join Chester County Fund for Women and Girls (CCFWG) and Women Willpower for an intimate gathering to directly follow TEDxWestChester, featuring networking and music by TEDxWestChester speaker and award-winning songwriter, singer, guitarist and producer Kate Schutt. NPR calls Kate’s voice “glassily clear and glossily sweet.” She studied the influence of jazz on modern poetry at Harvard, and studied jazz guitar at Berklee College of Music.
Be sure to take advantage of this chance to network with fellow TEDx community members, meet the TEDxWestChester speakers and enjoy a set from acclaimed musician, Kate. Earlier in the evening, she will have delivered a talk influenced by the album she is currently working on — lovingly referred to as “The Death Album.” Born and raised in Chadds Ford, PA, Kate moved home in the midst of a successful music career to serve as her mother’s primary caregiver as she battled ovarian cancer. Along the way, Kate wrote songs about life, loss and (to use Christopher Hitchens’s potent phrase) “living dyingly.” She is pleased to share a sampling of this music, which she is working on with legendary producer/arranger Rob Mounsey, with guests after the main TEDxWestChester event.
Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and drinks that will be available for purchase. Please register in advance to secure your spot. Space is limited.
