Remembering Betty Moran
The Fund for Women and Girls honors the life and legacy of one of our earliest and most faithful supporters, Mrs. J. Maxwell R. Moran (Betty Moran), who passed away on January 23, 2020.
We often hearken to the early conversations of our founders around the Kitchen Table that inspired our origin. It was around Betty’s kitchen table where things happened — from the wee hours of the morning to the late hours of the night. Those who knew her well knew there was never a single day that went by that Betty did not think about, talk about, write about or donate to a worthy cause that she believed important. Simply put, lives were changed around Betty’s kitchen table.
Betty remained one of our staunchest supporters over the years — not just in her treasure, but as an engaged and vocal advocate for our vision, mission and shared goals to improve the lives of women, girls and families in Chester County.
There are not enough “Betty Morans” in the world. A woman who was generous beyond words, wholeheartedly committed to causes she believed in, tireless in working for organizations that benefited the community. Countless lives were touched by her huge heart and the legacy she left us to follow our passions.
The Fund and the women and girls we serve say, “Thank you, Betty!”
