The Fund for Women and Girls' Grant Applications Now Open!

West Chester, PA – December 14, 2023: The Fund for Women and Girls announces the opening of its biennial Core Grants application. Since 1997, the Core Grants program has awarded over $4.2 million to 94 nonprofit organizations in Chester County that advance women and girls, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities to thrive. The Fund is excited to continue this incredible work of trust-based philanthropy through community-led grantmaking. Grant applications open December 4, 2023, and close January 19, 2024.

Grant awards amounts will be between $5,000 and $15,000 to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with missions and programs that closely align with The Fund’s advocacy priority areas of economic empowerment of women and girls, violence prevention and safety, and reproductive and general health. Applicants must be nonprofits that are primarily based in Chester County and primarily serve women, girls, and individuals with lived female experience. All Core Grants are awarded for a period of two years, 2024 and 2025.

The Fund’s Core Grant applications will be evaluated and awarded by a Core Grants Committee, a cohort of community members who participate in a months-long educational curriculum exploring trust-based philanthropy, nonprofit operations, grantmaking best practices, and current community needs based on The Fund’s Fourth Edition Blueprint Report, a deep dive research report on the state of women and girls in Chester County. After the grant determinations are completed, Core Grants Committee members often become advocates, volunteers, and even board members of the nonprofit organizations they have evaluated, strengthening the community with high-level understanding of the nonprofit sector and the needs of women and girls.
