'Votes for Women' Mural
On November 1, 2020, The Fund for Women and Girls unveiled our ‘Votes for Women’ Suffrage Mural, a collaboration with the West Chester Public Arts Commission, artist Kendra Beitzel, and Zukin Realty in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment which granted many women the right to vote. The mural unveiling was attended by elected officials, community leaders, and residents who joined The Fund, West Chester Public Arts Commission and Zukin Realty to unveil the design at 119 E. Market Street in the West Chester Borough. Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan, Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz, Pam Grey from the League of Women Voters of Chester County, Cheryl Miles from Black Women of Chester County In Action, Althea Mae Hutchinson from GirlGov Chester County, Jimmer Breen of West Chester Public Arts Commission, mural artist Kendra Beitzel, and our Board Chair Judi Bell shared remarks to honor the occasion.
